You can\u2019t become a mother and not be changed. Motherhood is beautiful and brutal. It brings out the best in me, and it also brings out the absolute worst in me.<\/p>\n

I remember early on when Lilly was a baby when I had a moment where I realized I had no idea how selfish I *really* was until I had a baby.<\/p>\n

I make no claims to be a perfect parent (far from it, really), but my goal is that each and every day my children would know how deeply loved they are by me, by John, and by their Heavenly Father.<\/p>\n

The past year Lilly has grown up so much. She had a hard year last year in a few areas, and I am amazed at how much she matured through the challenges she faced. She is a leader. She is a bold, fierce force to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n

While she is funny, smart, a great friend, and is talented\u2026 the thing I have loved watching her grow in the most is her love for Jesus. From an early age, there was a clear fire for the Lord in her heart. She has said she wants to be a worship leader or be a preacher some day. Every Sunday, I love watching her worship. It is pure, full of freedom and she holds nothing back. She dances, and sings, doesn\u2019t care at all what others around her think. I can\u2019t help but think of Jesus\u2019 words every time\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cTruly I tell you,\u201d\u00a0he said,\u00a0\u201cunless you turn and become like little children,\u00a0you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.\u00a0<\/b>Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child\u2014this one is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.\u00a0And whoever welcomes\u00a0one child like this in my name welcomes me.\u201d -Matthew 18:3-5<\/p>\n
